Keratoconus

0 The conical extension of the corneal center and its periphery is called keratoconus.

0 Vogt's stria (rupture in Descemet's membrane), Fleischer's ring (iron deposition in the epithelium) are corneal findings.

0 Patients have irregular astigmatism and myopia.

0 It is associated with diseases such as atopic dermatitis and vernal conjunctivitis.

0 In the early period, glasses or contact lenses (hard contact lenses in the foreground) can correct the visual defect. When this is not sufficient, refractive surgery options may be considered. If the progression cannot be controlled in advanced disease, keratoplasty is performed.
