Description and clinical picture:
• It is an intrahepatic type of cholestasis that is usually seen in the third trimester.
• Itching is the most important and first symptom, jaundice can also be seen.
• There is a high risk of recurrence in other pregnancies.

Lab:
• Mild and moderate ALT/AST and ALP increases are seen.
• Despite cholestasis, the GGT level may be normal.
• Direct bilirubin (<5 mg/dl) may increase slightly.
• Increase in serum bile acid levels may occur.

Treatment:
• Ursodeoxycholic acid and cholestyramine are given.
• Vitamin K replacement is done.
• The clinical picture improves with delivery.
