Hordeolum (Stye)

• The most common causative agent is staphylococcus (S. aureus).

• Inflammation of the meibomian glands is called internal sty.

• Inflammation of Zeis and Moll glands is called external sty.

• Hot compress, eyelash cleaning, antibiotic drops and eye ointment are used in treatment.

chalazion

• It is lipogranuloma of the meibomian glands.

• Swelling occurs on the eyelids.

• It is surgically excised.

blepharitis

• They are bilateral, common inflammations of the eyelids.

• There are seborrheic, staphylococcal and mixed varieties.

• Madarosis (eyelash loss) may develop.

• Etiology-oriented treatment is applied.
