Major Salivary Glands:Parotid-Submandibular gland-Sublingual gland
Minor Salivary Glands:
It is distributed in approximately 1000 numbers in the oropharyngeal mucosa.
Unlike the parotid submandibular gland, it contains lymphoid tissue.
The submandibular gland makes most of the 1500 cc saliva secretion per day.
parotid; produces pure serous secretion.
Sialolithiasis:
It occurs most frequently (80%) in the submandibular gland.
Ranula:
A mucus retention cyst of the sublingual gland is called
Case

Benign Tumors
Pleomorphic adenoma
Known as a benign mixed tumorPleomorphic adenoma most commonly develops in the parotid gland.
Histologically, there are pseudopods in the tumor.

Submandibular and minor is the most common malignant tumor of the salivary glands. It is called a "cylindricaloma" because of the cylindrical cells
Perineural invasion occurs in SO% of patients
Perineural invasion recurs frequently after surgery
Salivary gland tumor propagating through nerves
Malignant mixed tumor
Bening pleomorphic adenoma + malignant tumor tissue coexistIt develops from the background of pleomorphic adenoma that has not been operated for many years (after 10 years).
Other name: Carsinoma ex pleomorphic adenoma
